Constant improvements in the field of drying technologies over the past years have resulted in nutrient retention at levels not seen before.
Technologies that were revolutionary 20 years ago are now outdated. What was out of reach a decade ago is now attainable, especially in the field of dehydration and nutrient concentration.
Select Organix Power-Trio is manufactured using a wide spectrum of drying technologies. Each step is tailored to the specific variety of fruits, vegetables and berries with the goal of retaining the maximum amount of nutrients and antioxidants. We rely on more than 30 years of experience and several patented processes to achieve this goal. Mainly we use low temperature freeze-drying technologies which are optimized according to our proprietary protocol.
Another method that we use is a proprietary low-temperature process which utilizes gentle energy from light during the dehydration process and is more than 70% energy efficient. In comparison to conventional freeze-drying where the energy efficiency is only around 20% this technology allows for lower temperatures and faster drying times which in return means greater nutrient retention.
Our tests have shown that vitamin C and antioxidant retention in the dried powder was 99%. This means that the nutrient loss of drying was only around 1%, which is much less than the typical 10-15% loss when using conventional freeze-drying methods. Vitamin C is a very heat sensitive vitamin and these results are a great indicator for enzymatic activity and phyto-nutrient content in the finished powder.
